Juli Rea will present a Bank panel Solicitor’s perspective on commercial lending transactions. The session will cover the legal aspects of commercial lending, roles of the various players, common challenges and solutions, and an overview of transaction timelines to help solicitors manage client expectations.

About the speaker:

Juli Rea is a Partner at JRAP O’Meara Solicitors LLP, specialising in Banking and Property law, with 15 years as a Panel Solicitor for Bank of Ireland. A former president of the Southern Law Association and Council member of the Law Society of Ireland, she actively mentors in the Women in Leadership program. Since qualifying in 1995, Juli has lectured extensively, including at University College Cork’s School of Law.

Understanding Proprietary Estoppel Claims: From Principles to Practice

with Garvan Corkery SC (1hr General CPD)

Garvan Corkery SC will provide an in-depth look into proprietary estoppel claims against estates. The seminar will encompass basic principles, their connection to testate and intestate estates, a comparison with associated claims such as testamentary contracts and unjust enrichment, the court’s perspective, and practical advice on case particulars and instruction-taking.

About the speaker:

Garvan Corkery is a Senior Counsel.  He was called to the Bar in 2011 and to the Inner Bar in 2022.  Before going to the Bar he practiced as a solicitor at RDJ and earlier at McCann FitzGerald, where he qualified as a solicitor in 1995.  He has a wide-ranging civil-law practice and is an accredited mediator and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.  He is a member of the Probate Bar Association of Ireland.

As managing partner of Coghlan Kelly Solicitors, Martin Lawlor, has worked in private practice for over 35 years. In that time, Martin has worn many hats. Two of which included him chairing the Law Society’s Money Laundering Reporting Committee, as well as being former chair of the Regulation of Practice Committee.

He has been elected as a council member of the Law Society of Ireland for over 14 years and is involved in many local committees and boards.

While this CPD event is free to attend for members, we appreciate your understanding that we require a booking deposit to secure your place at the event. This policy helps us ensure that those who register are genuinely interested and committed to attending, enabling us to effectively manage the event and avoid empty seats. The great news is that this deposit of €50 is fully refundable! Upon confirmation of your attendance at the event, we will promptly process your deposit refund. This approach helps us to maintain a more engaged event experience for all attendees. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

As this is a live in-person event, recordings will not be available to view in replay format. 

Tickets for our event are partially refundable. The total ticket cost is €70, of which €50 is a booking deposit that will be fully refunded upon confirmation of your attendance at the event. However, please note that the remaining €20 covers lunch and refreshments and is non-refundable. 

If you would rather not attend the luncheon with other attendees, please just let us know prior to the event so we can make a note of this and refund this portion of the ticket directly to you. Email Catherine/Sarah at info@solicitorsgrowth.com.

In the event of cancellation of the event, full refunds will be issued to all ticket buyers.

Personalised CPD certificates will be emailed directly to each attendee after the event. Please allow up to 3 working days for all CPD certs to be issued.
